Shawn Michaels Discusses NXT Going On Road For PLE Shows
Shawn Michaels has explained why it is important for NXT events to take place away from the brand’s Florida base.
In his role as WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, Michaels oversees NXT and the brand are gearing up for their latest Premium Live Event, NXT Vengeance Day, on Sunday 4th February.
The huge show sees Trick Wiliams challenge Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship and will emanate from the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tennessee.
In a recent appearance on the ‘Chase & Big Joe Show‘, Michaels noted that the opportunity to perform in front of different audiences was important for the development of NXT Superstars and the overall brand:
“Here in NXT, we spend a lot of time, the majority of our time we’re here in Florida. But when these premium live events come around like they do for us every now and then. Obviously, Sunday, February 4 is gonna be one of those days, but we have a chance to get out and show some new folks what it is we can do.
Everybody’s pumped. They’re excited for this weekend. Again, especially so many people coming off from the Rumble and look also the idea that again, their peers are coming off the Rumble and now so many of our NXT stars were there in the crowd as well.
They’ve seen it, they feel it. I can guarantee you they’re gonna come to Clarksville and they’re gonna blow the roof off that place.”
Shawn Michaels Addresses NXT Future Of William Regal
Former NXT General Manager William Regal made a surprise appearance on the 23rd January edition on NXT, providing support and words of advice for Ava after her appointment to the role.
It was Regal’s first televised appearance for WWE since his departure in 2022. The Brit made a huge impact during a short stint with AEW and Michaels recently revealed that he expects further on-screen appearances for the former WWE Intercontinental Champion in future.
