Shawn Michaels Reportedly Paid Huge Sums For Return At WWE Crown Jewel 2018
An insight has been given in to the huge sum of money Shawn Michaels was given to come out of retirement at WWE Crown Jewel 2018.
WWE Crown Jewel 2018 took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with Shawn Michaels competing in his first match since 2010, reforming D-Generation X with Triple H to take on The Brothers Of Destruction, Kane and The Undertaker.
Whilst the match saw four legends of the ring square off, with the teams having never faced before, the match didn’t go entirely to plan. Triple H was legitimately injured during the contest meaning Shawn Michaels had to take a lot of the work, and Kane’s mask also came off during the contest.
In a discussion on Tony Schiavone’s What Happened When Podcast, co-host Conrad Thompson noted that it took a massive amount of money to get ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ to compete in the match, with one report he heard claiming it was $3 million.
I do think it’s interesting that this is Shawn Michaels’ last match. He got paid a fu*k ton of money here, millions of dollars. I don’t know if it’s true, but I heard he got like $3 million for this match. Like if that’s real, of course he had to wrestle again. Are you kidding?
In the same interview, Tony Schiavone discussed who the best colour commentator in the business is.
