CM Punk will be playing a “major role” in NXT.

On October 1st, NXT will premiere on the CW Network, and to celebrate the brand is going back on the road. That premiere episode will come live from All State Arena in Chicago before NXT stops off at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis seven days later.

To add to the excitement, CM Punk will be appearing in Chicago, while Randy Orton will feature in St. Louis.

Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, Punk has taken a great interest in NXT often attending tapings and offering advice to the up-and-coming stars. So naturally, there’s a great deal of excitement around his involvement on October 1st.

Speaking to Iridian Fierro for WGN Radio, Shawn Michaels talked up Punk’s appearance suggesting he’ll play a “major role” on the show.

“Can’t let the cat out of the bag on that right now. So, he’s going to be there. He’s going to be playing a major role, obviously, for us, and again, as I said. Certainly, other surprises are sure to come.”

Michaels went on to discuss the importance of NXT getting back on the road.

The NXT Universe, as they say, are very excited to be coming to Chicago. Here in Orlando, our talent, we absolutely love our home base here and our arena, but getting out on the road is a really big event for us and for our talent.

So they’re excited to come and perform in front of, again, not just saying that, one of the greatest crowds that everybody around the world knows about, that’s Chicago there at the Allstate Arena. Absolutely one of the best crowds to perform in front of, and our NXT Superstars are extremely excited about getting to do just that.”

NXT Star Looking To Learn From CM Punk

During a recent interview, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez heaped praise on CM Punk and his desire to help the next generation.

Perez noted that Punk has gone out of his way to help out in NXT, well above and beyond what might be expected. The star added that as someone who grew up watching Punk perform, getting to learn from him is “awesome.”
