Shawn Michaels Says The Business Is In Good Hands With Top WWE Star

Shawn Michaels has credited a top WWE star for wanting to pass on their knowledge to the next generation.

In recent years, Shawn Michaels has been charged with guiding WWE’s young hopefuls from the Performance Center, through NXT, and onto the main roster. And as he’s repeatedly stated, that gives him the chance to keep the next generation away from the pitfalls that come with being a top WWE star.

Pitfalls that Michaels famously knows all too well.

Currently in the top spot is Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who has taken it upon himself to make WWE as big as it can possibly be. This has seen him occasionally drop into NXT to work with the stars that will one day take his place.

During an interview with Undisputed, Michaels discussed those visits and why Rhodes is so important to the wrestling industry as a whole.

“You’re always comforted when you’re handing over the reins of this business to someone that respects it, honors it, and enjoys it. That gives all of us a lot of peace and comfort.

“When Cody comes into the Performance Center, it’s very fortunate for us. He wants to pass it on to the next generation and echoes a lot of what we say. That’s a huge help and comfort to everyone in WWE. You know the business is in good hands moving into the future.”

Despite his recent absence, Triple H has confirmed that Cody Rhodes will be at Wrestlepalooza on September 20.

Ex-WWE Star Details Heat With Shawn Michaels

Meanwhile, former WWE Superstar Maven has recalled struggling to get on with Shawn Michaels during the early 2000s. Maven said he repeatedly tried to seek advice from Michaels while already knowing he would never be on the Hall of Famer’s level.

The three-time Hardcore Champion explained that despite his willingness to learn, he was regularly “berated” by Michaels.

During the same interview, Maven confirmed that he’s retired from wrestling, adding that he’s “perfectly fine” with no longer being a wrestler.
