Shawn Michaels Has Another WWE Match Left In Him

WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels Shares His Pro Wrestling Mount Rushmore

Shawn Michaels might not have left The Showstopper behind.

Following defeat to The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI in 2010, Shawn Michaels was adamant he wouldn’t wrestle again. However, he did lace up his boots one more time at Crown Jewel in 2018 in a match all involved quickly regretted.

Since then, Michaels has remained retired and took over the top job in NXT in September 2021 after working backstage for three years.

Despite this, it seems the Heartbreak Kid might not have put his in-ring career fully behind him.

During a Q&A hosted by For The Love of Wrestling (via Monopoly Events), JDC, better known as Fandango, revealed Michaels has told him he’s got one or two matches left in him.

“You know who I talked to [at NXT] last week, who said he’s got one or two matches left in him? Shawn Michaels. Yeah, and that’s a guy, he’s the reason why I got into the business. So honestly, it’d probably never happen, but that would be my dream match,”

Back in January, Grayson Waller admitted he thought he’d wrestle Shawn Michaels in 2023. After weeks of tension, Waller challenged Michaels to a match at Stand & Deliver, but the NXT boss nominated Johnny Gargano to face the Aussie star.

During that interview, Waller said he felt he was “close” to getting a match with Michaels during WrestleMania weekend.

On February 4, Fandango made a return to WWE when he confronted Lexis King in NXT. He went on to lose to King a week later as he challenged for the Heritage Cup. The match was the star’s first in WWE since 2021.
