Shawn Michaels Addresses William Regal’s NXT Future

Shawn Michaels has spoken on the future of William Regal in NXT.

On the January 23rd edition of NXT, William Regal made his first appearance on WWE TV since being released in 2022. Regal made a special appearance on the show to give Ava some words of advice as she took on the role of NXT General Manager that he once held for eight years.

During a media call ahead of Vengeance Day, Shawn Michaels was asked about Regal’s future on the developmental brand. According to HBK, there is “no doubt” that the star will make more cameos down the line.

“He came down here recently to endorse our new GM Ava. She’s already wielding pretty good power and doing a good job. As he mentioned to Ava, his phone is always open, he is there for her counsel in any way he can help.

“Here at NXT, when you have a staple and a foundational person like William Regal, you have to have more than just one shot with him here and there. I think everybody was extremely excited about his brief cameo on NXT television. I have no doubt we will have some other cameos by William Regal in the future as well.”

Shawn Michaels Comments On Fostering Safe Working Environment In NXT

During the media call, Shawn Michaels answered questions on the working environment in NXT. The subject came up in the wake of the shocking allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking made against Vince McMahon by a former employee.

Michaels said that NXT takes the issue very seriously, and noted that their policies on safeguarding were updated as recently as 2022. He also explained what the company does to encourage talent to be open about difficult topics, as well as the options available for stars to reach out beyond the organization if the situation calls for it.
