Shawn Michaels Accused For Lack Of Support
Ex-WWE star had an unpleasant experience with Shawn Michaels.
During a new interview on MASTER CLASS w/The Master Emir, former WWE NXT star Danny Burch claimed that the Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creative did not support him during his battle with alcohol addiction.
After being released from WWE in 2022, Burch was injured, out of work, and spiraled into severe alcoholism. Because The Heartbreak Kid is famously known for overcoming serious drug and alcohol problems in the 90s, the ex-WWE star thought he would understand and help.
So he reached out to HBK via text, explaining his situation and asking for support. But Michaels replied that he doesn’t deal with this kind of stuff and simply gave him a phone number, telling him to call that person and say he worked for WWE, but that he’d have to pay for it.
Ex-WWE Star Felt Let Down By Shawn Michaels
Burch described this as a cold, dismissive response and said he felt let down, especially since he had hoped for empathy from someone who had been through similar struggles. He said:
“I reached out to him (Shawn Michaels) because I had developed a really bad problem with alcohol, real bad problem. And I reached out because I thought in my moment of need and want and help, I thought, ‘Well, you know, Shawn went through this maybe,’ and I text him and I explained the situation. He went, ‘Ah, well, I don’t deal with that. So here’s a phone number. Call him and tell him you work for the company, but you’ll probably have to pay for it.'”
