Shane McMahon Returns To WWE

Shane McMahon

For the first time in over one year, Shane McMahon was back in the ring and it did not go well for him.

There was a promo segment at WrestleMania 39 Sunday between the hosts The Miz and Snoop Dogg. The Miz complained about how Snoop put Miz into a match at WrestleMania 39 Saturday that saw Pat McAfee beat Miz thanks to George Kittle helping McAfee.

After hearing The Miz’s complaints, Snoop asked Miz if he wanted another match. Miz wasn’t into that idea, but Snoop had a surprise for him.

Shane McMahon made his WWE return for the first time since his appearance in the 2022 Royal Rumble. The fans cheered Shane, so he did a quick promo thanking him for that. Snoop made the match.

What happened from there was not good for Shane McMahon’s match against The Miz. Moments later, Shane did a leapfrog and he collapsed. His knee gave out. A trainer went into the ring to check on him right away. Shane was rolled out of the ring.

Snooop Dogg took over the match, he punched The Miz a few times and hit his own version of a People’s Elbow to pin Miz and win the match.

Whatever the plan was here, it did not go very well for Shane McMahon because he hurt his knee and wasn’t able to have the match with Miz that he was supposed to have.

Here is some footage of Shane McMahon getting helped to the back to show that it was a legit injury.

UPDATE: On the post-WrestleMania press conference, Triple H said his brother-in-law Shane McMahon suffered a torn quad injury. That’s something Triple H and Vince McMahon both suffered from in their careers. It was not a worked injury.
