Several Backstage Staff Fired By WWE

Nick Khan WWE

Off the back of a record-setting WrestleMania, WWE has cut a number of staff.

Back in February, WWE made a series of cuts to its talent roster for the first time in 2025, with several former champions among those moved on. Stars such as Cedric Alexander, Paul Ellering, Akam, Rezar, and Blair Davenport were all released, while Sonya Deville was informed her contract would not be renewed.

Those departures were followed by the releases of Giovanni Vinci, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and Isla Dawn.

More WWE Cuts Confirmed

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE cut “at least 10-12 staffers” and potentially even more on May 1. These cuts were made across several departments, including creative services, photography, and more.

Perhaps the most high-profile name to be let go was Christine Lubrano, who had been working as Senior Vice President, Creative Writing Operations.

According to Johnson, Lubrano oversaw all strategic operations for the company’s creative department. In practice, this meant that the creative teams for Raw, SmackDown, and NXT reported to Lubrano and Bruce Prichard, who in turn reported to Triple H.

There’s no word on when or if more cuts will be made.
