Several Absent AEW Stars Expected To Join WWE
More movement is expected between AEW and WWE.
In recent weeks AEW has seemingly begun to move on from the House of Black by distancing Buddy Matthews, Brody King, and Julia Hart from Malakai Black. Although there’s been no official comment from the company, or the man himself, it’s been widely reported that Black is done with the promotion.
Black has been linked with a return to WWE for several years given his experience working with Triple H, while his wife Zelina Vega currently wrestles on Raw.
Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Tony Khan’s previous comments that Black’s contract expires in 2027 were false. However, the exact date of his free agency remains a mystery, but it’s expected to be soon.
Meltzer added that Black is one of several AEW stars expected to leave the company for WWE when their deals expire.
But at this point Black, Miro, Ricky Starks and Rey Fenix are all on the same list of people who are not likely to be used, one day their deals will expire, and when they do, they’ll be in WWE.
AEW Stars More Open To WWE Move
Meanwhile, it was reported elsewhere that AEW stars are now more open than ever to signing with WWE in large part due to Penta’s impressive debut on Raw.
The report claimed that people in AEW previously believed they’d get lost in the shuffle in WWE but now feel they could featured prominently. Those who are unhappy are now more open to signing with WWE and two stars in particular are looking to speak to the company when their current deals expire.
