Seth Rollins WWE WrestleMania Destiny Confirmed
Seth Rollins found himself implicated in the issues between Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and The Rock but now his WrestleMania future looks clearer.
CM Punk suffered an injury at the Royal Rumble ruling him out of WrestleMania and a presumed match with Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Rollins had made a case to Cody Rhodes to cash in his Royal Rumble win against him but Cody Rhodes has now made clear who he’ll be facing at WrestleMania 40.
Cody Rhodes ended up on the receiving end of a slap from The Rock at the WrestleMania press conference as things quickly broke down. Seth Rollins watched on as did Roman Reigns who had been going back and forth with Rhodes on the mic before The Rock intervened.
That led to many wondering if WWE had a plan in place to hold another tag team main event on night one of WrestleMania that would pit The Rock & Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins.
Seth Rollins To Defend WWE Title At WrestleMania 40
While a tag team encounter could be in the works, it has now been confirmed Seth Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Championship at the event.
On SmackDown in Charlotte, North Carolina, Raw and SmackDown General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis confirmed an Elimination Chamber match will take place to determine Seth Rollins’ number one contender for WrestleMania.
Twelve WWE stars were revealed as being part of qualifying matches to fill the six spaces in the Chamber match. Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton became the first two stars to qualify after McIntyre beat AJ Styles and Orton defeated Sami Zayn.
The other eight stars still in with a chance of facing Rollins for the gold are Bronson Reed, Kevin Owens, Logan Paul, The Miz, Bobby Lashley, Ivar, Dominik Mysterio, and LA Knight.
