WrestleMania 39 Match Featuring Seth Rollins Is Close To Official

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is going to WrestleMania 39 and his opponent at that event is virtually set in stone at this point.

In the Men’s Royal Rumble match on January 28th, Seth “Freakin” Rollins entered the match at #15 while lasting an impressive 37:18 in the match with two eliminations. Rollins made it until the final four of the match when he was eliminated by Logan Paul, who entered the match at #29.

When Seth Rollins was on Raw being asked about Paul eliminating him, Rollins refused to answer. It was a clear indication that the interaction between Rollins and Paul at the Royal Rumble will likely lead to a WrestleMania match.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that “publicity and interviews from the past week indicate Seth Rollins vs. Logan Paul is as close to official as possible without the match announcement.”

On his own Instagram account, Seth Rollins went live with fans and tore into Paul saying a lot of people in WWE really don’t like the YouTube star/podcast host.

“Alright, look. I was going to avoid this topic but since I’ve seen a few of you guys asking so far about Logan Paul, I don’t know. I don’t know about Logan Paul. All I know is that I don’t really like Logan Paul. I’ll just say it. A lot of us don’t really like Logan Paul. We don’t. I don’t like Logan Paul, I don’t really need him in my locker room, in my space. Great, the guy is ultra talented as far as athletic ability is concerned.”

“He snuck up on me at the Rumble and dumped me, fine. Whatever. I took my eyes off the ball, that one’s on me, but don’t go bragging about it like you did something otherworldly. It’s probably the coolest thing Logan’s ever gonna do in his life. I just advise him to stay in his lane. He’s had what, three or four matches? Again, athletic freak, no doubt about it. But, at the end of the day, he’s just not a wrestler.”

While speaking about Paul on the Pat McAfee Show earlier this week, Seth Rollins said this about the YouTube star.

“He doesn’t care about nothing but himself. I can respect the hustle, alright, I really do because it takes hustle to get to where he is at and to get the opportunities he’s got, but at the end of the day, it’s about passion. No one is going to suit up and play in the NFL football because they’re a social media superstar, right? They’re going to get creamed.”

“He’s going to step into my world, and he’s going to get creamed. If you want to contribute and give back to our industry…you’re a fan of it, and you love it, right Pat? You’re a fan of it, you love it, you give back to it, you talk about it any chance you get, and you put it over. That’s not him, dude. That’s not him. He’s in it for himself. He’s in it for his own gain.”

Before he gets to WrestleMania 39 for the match against Logan Paul, Seth Rollins will be one of the six men in the Elimination Chamber match challenging Austin Theory for the US Title. The others in the match are Johnny Gargano, Damian Priest, Bronson Reed and Montez Ford. There’s a potential spoiler about the result of that match.
