Why Seth Rollins Winning MITB Was A Major WWE Mistake

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins winning Money In The Bank has been blasted as a big mistake by WWE.

Seth Rollins captured the Money In The Bank briefcase as his ascent back to the top of WWE looks set to continue. Rollins has surrounded himself with muscle after he prised the Wise Man Paul Heyman away from Roman Reigns and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41. Rollins welcomed Bron Breakker under his wing before opening the door to a returning Bronson Reed, despite Rollins and Reed at one point being vicious rivals.

Seth Rollins’ win means he has now won the Money In The Bank match for the second time in his career, becoming the second man to do so after CM Punk. Rollins previously won the briefcase in 2015, going on to complete the heist of the century when he cashed in during the WrestleMania 31 main event between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship.

Given Rollins’ history in WWE, not everyone thinks his most recent Money In The Bank win is best for business.

Should Seth Rollins Have Won Money In The Bank?

Speaking on Legion of Raw, former WWE writer Vince Russo explained why he wouldn’t have had Rollins capture the briefcase:

Seth Rollins, we’ve been down this road a million times. How much better would it have been if either Breakker or Bronson were in it and won it? I don’t know how they are missing things that just slap you across the face.

Seth Rollins won’t be targeting Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Title, however, as Uso lost his championship to Gunther in a shock finish on Monday Night Raw.
