Could Seth Rollins Win 3 WWE Titles At Once With Crown Jewel Cash-In
Seth Rollins holding the Money in the Bank contract and being out for an undisclosed amount of time raises the question when and on whom he will cash-in the MITB contract.
SummerSlam already has the two world championship matches on the card. CM Punk will face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, while Cody Rhodes will face John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
If not The Biggest Party of the Summer, The Visionary can cash-in at Crown Jewel as well, where the two world champions will fight for the Crown Jewel Championship.
Seth Rollins might not be able to become triple-champion at once unless WWE changes the rules
On Notsam Wrestling, a fan asked Sam Roberts if The Visionary can become the WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, and the Crown Jewel Champion at once if he cashes in during the Champion vs. Champion match at Crown Jewel.
Roberts explained his point of view and how logically that couldn’t be the case, despite how interesting it sounds.
As logic would state, if we are looking at a logic chart, if-then statements. If the reason that the triple threat rule applies is because a champion, a WWE champion, so let’s go back to 31. WWE Champion Brock Lesnar is defending the title against Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins cashes in. Technically, Seth Rollins is not cashing in on Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins in cashing in on Brock Lesnar. However, the cash-in does not cancel out the match that is at play. Therefore, Seth Rollins has not made this into a Triple Threat match. But the same rules apply that applied in the original singles match.
If Seth Rollins cashed in the briefcase, while let’s say it’s Gunther vs. Cena, okay? Which it could be. Gunther vs. Cena, Seth Rollins cashes in. That match is not for the WWE and the World Heavyweight Championship. That match is for the Crown Jewel Championship. However, the Crown Jewel Championship is only awarded if one champion is able to beat the other champion. Cody Rhodes as the WWE Champion beat the World Heavyweight Champion.
Therefore, Cody was crowned the Crown Jewel Champion. If Seth were to interrupt that match, he would win the title of the person that he pinned. However, I believe the other person would retain their title. So, if he pinned John Cena, he would win the WWE Championship, but that would not affect Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship because number one, it was never on the line.
And number two, there’s no precedent that says you can just decide ‘I’m cashing in on both’. There’s one contract in the briefcase. Also, because Seth was not the World Heavyweight Champion, but he pinned John Cena for the WWE Championship, Seth would not, in my mind, be entitled to the Crown Jewel Championship. Therefore, that match would be a No-Contest. So, what you would end up having is Seth has the WWE championship, Gunther retains the World Heavyweight Championship, and there is no Crown Jewel Champion.
There is a speculation that Seth Rollins’ injury could be one big ruse. So, it means that he is injured, but he did not suffer it at Saturday Night’s Main Event; the event was used to showcase the injury on WWE TV.
