Seth Rollins Slams Hypocrite CM Punk
In case there was any doubt, Seth Rollins hates CM Punk.
The March 3 episode of Monday Night Raw opened in explosive fashion with CM Punk marching to the ring and grabbing a microphone.
In his determination to make a point, Punk stood on top of the announce table and took aim at just about everyone he feels has ever done him wrong in WWE. The star branded The Rock a “bald fraud” who is having a midlife crisis, shouting that he’s never been desperate enough to walk around with a fake title.
Next on his list was John Cena for his jaw-dropping heel turn at Elimination Chamber. Punk claimed that all Cena had done was show everything he said about him to be true, adding that all he’d done was sell bullsh*t for 20 years.
This brought Punk onto Seth Rollins via a mention of his wife, Becky Lynch.
Unsurprisingly, Rollins was less than impressed, and it wasn’t long until a wild brawl was underway. With bodies flying every which way, the chaotic scene was eventually brought under control by security.
After another scuffle backstage, it was then announced that CM Punk and Seth Rollins would meet in a Steel Cage Match on March 10 at Madison Square Garden.
Seth Rollins Has “Unadulterated Hate” For CM Punk
During an appearance on the Raw Recap podcast, Rollins looked ahead to his match with Punk, but it wasn’t long before his disdain for his rival took over. Rollins said Punk is nothing but a hypocrite, later admitting he has nothing but “pure unadulterated hatred” for the former AEW star.
“I mean, look at the guy. He is a hypocrite. The world is going to sit there and talk about, oh, listen to all these wonderful, great things he said about John Cena and the decision he made at the Rumble and The Rock. Dude, you’ve done everything and more that you’re accusing these guys of.
You’re a coward, you’re a fraud, you gave up on your dream to main event WrestleMania years ago. We don’t have to go through all the things that he did in his time away before he came back. I’ve told the story a million times, and the fact that he has the gall to go out there and spit what he thinks is truth about these guys when he won’t even look in the mirror and talk to himself about all the mistakes that he’s made, that have made other people suffer, that’s the thing.
He’s made other people suffer and never owned up to it. So that is a microcosm. Tonight is just a microcosm of all the reasons that I hate this guy. That’s why it’s different.
There’s love in other places. There’s love for Roman Reigns. Do I agree with what he stands for? Absolutely not. But there’s a seed of love in there somewhere. That makes it more painful. That makes it more painful when I get in there and have to do what I have to do to him.
With CM Punk, there’s no seed of love. That’s gone. He erased that a long time ago. So it’s pure, unadulterated hatred. That’s all I have for him. You mentioned the Netflix debut and this match at The Garden, I hate that he’s a part of it with me. I hate it so much,”
The match on Raw will be just the third time Punk and Rollins have met one-on-one, and the former World Heavyweight Champion is currently without a win. Punk defeated Rollins back in 2013 and then came out on top when they wrestled again in January 2025.
