Seth Rollins Fires Shots At Roman Reigns Amid WWE Absence

Seth Rollins poses on WWE Raw

Seth Rollins is staying busy outside of the WWE ring while also taking a shot at his rival, Roman Reigns.

The former 6-time WWE World Champion Seth Rollins is out of action after suffering a serious shoulder injury at WWE Crown Jewel in early October. Rollins did a coast-to-coast headbutt off the top rope and landed awkwardly on his shoulder. That fall was so bad that it led to Rollis having shoulder surgery, and he’ll be out of action for about six months or more.

Even before he got injured, Seth Rollins was going to be part of NFL Network’s morning show, Good Morning Football, because he’s a huge football fan who knows a lot about the sport.

During a recent episode of GMFB, co-host and former NFL player Manti Te’o chose his WWE-style Survivor Series team, consisting of Roman Reigns, Penei Sewell of the NFL’s Detroit Lions, Vita Vea of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and The Rock. They are all Samoan, just like Te’o.

When Rollins saw Manti’s team, he reacted by taking a shot at his former on-screen friend and longtime rival, Roman Reigns.

“I mean, I’ve got that guy’s number. So he’d be the first one. I’d come straight for The Tribal Chief.”

Rollins said that he doesn’t want any of Sewell or Vita Vea. Rollins said we don’t have to worry about The Rock either.

Seth Rollins Will Likely Stay Involved With WWE Even After Retiring

At 39 years old, Seth Rollins was having some of his best matches of his career before he suffered the shoulder injury. While guys like John Cena and AJ Styles are close to retirement at the age of 48, Rollins likely has many more years left.

Before his shoulder injury, Seth Rollins spoke about his wrestling future.

“I don’t know if I want to do it into my 50s. I have a couple of years left on my contract in WWE. My daughter is four-and-a-half, almost five. I wouldn’t mind spending some extra time with her in a few years. We’ll see what happens.

I love this business; I’ve given my entire life to it, and it’s given me a great life. I met my wife through this business, I have my daughter because I met my wife through this business. I’m able to provide jobs at my wrestling school down in Iowa for other people. I’ve built a mini-empire out of this industry.

I imagine in some capacity I will stay involved one way or another for as long as I can.”

In an interview from this past February, Seth Rollins confirmed that he’d already held early talks about taking up a management role in WWE, but that’s for down the road, obviously.
