Seth Rollins Names One Thing WWE Is Missing In 2024
Seth Rollins has commented on the ever-changing WWE landscape.
In 2024, life in WWE has arguably never been better. The company is selling out arenas around the world, and mainstream appeal is higher than it has been in years. This has seen several Superstars, led by Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, hit incredible new levels of popularity.
In general, WWE is dominated by the good guys, with the likes of Rhodes, Reigns, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Rhea Ripley leading the babyface charge. But those stars wouldn’t be as loved as they are without some dastardly heels to bounce off.
During an appearance on The Pivot, Seth Rollins — who has enjoyed success as both a babyface and a heel, suggested WWE might be missing some good heels.
“Some of our bigger booms have been with face champions. You look at the last four years, Roman Reigns has been the guy, the Tribal Chief, and he’s been the biggest heel. Right now, we’re riding with Cody Rhodes and we’re sort of in this era of babyfaces. You have guys like myself, Cody, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Roman is back as a babyface.
You have this era where everything is clicking and people are loving so much of what is going on. I’m looking around and thinking, ‘We’re missing some good heels around here.’ The business is cyclical and you have to ride the waves given to you and figure out how to make the most money you can off of that.
You look at guys like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, (Bruno) Sammartino. A lot of the biggest box offices have been built on top babyfaces.”
Seth Rollins Looking To Life After Retirement
During the same interview, Seth Rollins began to look towards life after his in-ring retirement. The star has been earning his living inside the square circle for more than 20 years, and he’s keenly aware of the damage that has done to his body.
But instead of heading to Hollywood in the footsteps of likes of The Rock and John Cena, Rollins thinks he’ll be more like Triple H, and involved in helping the next generation.
Rollins was most recently in action on the November 4th episode of Raw where he competed for the right to become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Title. However, his bid for the World Title was thwarted by Bronson Reed who remains on a mission to destroy Rollins.
