Why Seth Rollins Can’t Move On From WWE Issues With CM Punk

A lengthy interview with Seth Rollins has been released where he opened up even more about his WWE rivalry with CM Punk.

The highly-anticipated matchup between Seth Rollins and CM Punk is set to take place on the first episode of Raw on Netflix on January 6th in Los Angeles.

Jackie Redmond interviewed Seth Rollins on the December 23rd edition of Raw in an interview that aired for only about three minutes on Raw. That didn’t make Rollins happy, so Seth went on social media to ask WWE to air the full 30-minute interview.

In anticipation of the Rollins-Punk match, WWE’s YouTube channel posted the full 26-minute interview with Rollins talking about Punk. In the interview, Rollins said that he had become friends with Punk in 2013, but then when Punk left WWE in January 2014, Punk stopped talking to people who were part of the company, including Rollins.

“You trust someone, you believe in them, you become close to them, and then they betray you with no remorse, no explanation, nothing. And if it was just me, I kind of feel I could have gotten over it. But it wasn’t just me that he stabbed in the back, right? It was every single friend that he had that worked for WWE.”

Rollins went on to criticize Punk some more by mentioning that Punk was strongly against WWE and wanted the company to die.

“I was a deckhand. I’m new, I’m sitting here and I’m doing everything I can to get this water out of the ship, to keep it afloat for years and years and years. And during this time, it wasn’t like he just sat on an island from far away and watched the thing start to go under. He was shooting cannons. He actively wanted the place to die.”

Seth Rollins Doesn’t Believe That CM Punk Has Changed For The Better

As the interview continued, Rollins admitted that perhaps his friendship with Punk could return, but Rollins doesn’t think that Punk has changed as a person yet.

“I just don’t buy it. And I think even if it’s true, even if everything that he’s doing is not a show and he is a changed man and he’s a better person than he was when he left, I can’t move on. The fight has to happen. It has to happen. There’s no way around it.”

In addition to the Rollins-Punk match, Roman Reigns will be in action against Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat Match while Liv Morgan defends the Women’s World Title against Rhea Ripley. In addition to those matches, WWE legends The Rock and John Cena will be on Raw’s Netflix debut as well.
