Seth Rollins To Miss Out On Major WWE SummerSlam Match

Seth Rollins WWE

With WWE SummerSlam on the horizon, it seems there’s one major WWE match that won’t involve Seth Rollins on the show.

Seth Rollins faced Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money In The Bank but that match ended in absolute chaos. Rollins and Priest made a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ before the bout, noting he’d not get another shot at the title if Priest won and Priest would have to leave The Judgment Day if Rollins won.

Drew McIntyre captured the Money In The Bank briefcase earlier in the night and carried through his plan to cash it in on the night as he made Rollins vs. Priest a triple threat bout that by definition then became no disqualification.

Enter CM Punk. Punk attacked McIntyre making sure he didn’t escape Toronto with gold and watched on as Damian Priest won the match. Punk’s actions also ensured Rollins couldn’t challenge for the title again while Priest is champion with Rollins and Punk renewing their own hostilities on Raw.

Seth Rollins Not Set For CM Punk/Drew McIntyre Match

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that despite the interaction between Seth Rollins and CM Punk, it is not likely that Rollins will be added to Punk’s expected match with Drew McIntyre on the huge show:

The Punk match is probable in some form. Rollins will probably be involved in that match but I was told it was not gonna be a three way. At least as of six days ago, it was not gonna be a three way.

As far as Rollins’ designs for the World Heavyweight Title, he and Priest agreed to disregard their gentleman’s agreement as WWE abandoned that stipulation.
