Seth Rollins’ “Difficult Relationship” With Major WWE Project
Seth Rollins has a sort of problem with the WWE Unreal docuseries.
Netflix is going to drop the second season of WWE Unreal on Tuesday, January 20, and Seth Rollins is going to be featured on it. In the new season, the WWE Universe will get a glimpse of how Seth Rollins pulled off the ruse of the century at SummerSlam 2025.
Rollins and his wife, Becky Lynch, recently appeared on Busted Open Radio to promote the upcoming season, where The Visionary revealed that he is not entirely a fan of the idea of WWE breaking kayfabe with the Netflix behind-the-scenes docuseries.
Why Does Seth Rollins Have A problem with WWE Unreal?
Seth Rollins believes kayfabe is one of the major things that helps run the wrestling business, so he’s not totally okay with Netflix and WWE revealing the secrets of the industry. However, he takes comfort in knowing that not all the wrestling industry secrets were spilled on the show.
He said:
“I’m younger, I’m under 40 still. But I have kind of an old-school mentality. So for me to be pushed to the point of having to really break kayfabe, it hurts me a bit.So it was difficult.
But I will say, look, there are some things that I want to protect because I do believe that the gray area in our business is what makes things special, that believability. The nice thing about the ‘Unreal’ show is that it airs after the fact, right?
It’s not in real time like a live Monday where, you know, we’re not giving the secrets away as they’re happening. We’re kind of peeling back the curtain a little bit on the back end of it. So I feel a little bit better about that.
But, yeah, there are some things that I still want to keep private. And I made that very clear with the producers. I’m like, ‘Look, there’s going to be moments where I’m going to tell you to shut it down.
And if you don’t respect that, then we’ll walk.’ And so they were very cool about that. I think what they got, again, I haven’t seen it. They haven’t shown me too much. i’ve only seen the previews.
But it does seem like they did a really good job of covering that story and showing kind of all the things that go into our business that if you are a new fan or a new viewer tuning into Netflix,
I think there’s a deeper respect that you’re going to get for our business and the performers and the effort and time and intelligence it takes to go through this process of trying to constantly tell stories.”
