The ghosts of Seth Rollins’ past returned to haunt him at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The current Mr. Money in the Bank suffered yet another legitimate injury during his match against LA Knight in Atlanta, Georgia.

Rollins was well ahead in the game as far as dominating his opponent was concerned, but a moonsault saw him land awkwardly as he clutched his right knee.

The former champion immediately took evasive action by crawling to the corner of the ring. After discussions with Paul Heyman, the referee, and the ringside doctor, he agreed to finish the match.

Knight obliged and hit him with a BFT for the 1-2-3.

According to a report by PWInsider, Rollins was set to emerge as the winner, but the injury forced a change in the outcome.

Seth Rollins’ Injury Can Set Up Roman Reigns’ Return At SummerSlam

Seth Rollins’ SummerSlam status carries a big question mark after SNME.

However, according to Sam Roberts of NotSam Wrestling, his injury may pave the way for Roman Reigns’ return at “the Biggest Party of the Summer.”

If we don’t have Seth Rollins for SummerSlam, you could do, like Roman Reigns vs. Bron Breakker, or you could have Roman Reigns return at SummerSlam. The fact that he didn’t return tonight on Saturday Night’s Main Event, he could return at SummerSlam proper. Not have Roman Reigns have a match; have him return as a surprise at the end of SummerSlam and go forward maybe with Gunther? Maybe he gets involved in the John Cena-Cody Rhodes story; maybe you set up a singles thing between Roman Reigns and CM Punk. [14:01 onwards]

Roman Reigns last appeared on WWE programming during the RAW episode after WrestleMania 41, where Rollins and Bron Breakker attacked him.
