Seth Rollins Injury Causes Creative Change

Seth Rollins WWE Smackdown promo

Things aren’t looking good for Seth Rollins.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, LA Knight finally got his one-on-one match with Seth Rollins. Knight has repeatedly clashed with Rollins and his faction on Raw in recent weeks and has found himself on the wrong side of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker on more than one occasion.

Come showtime, it was Knight who grabbed the win after hitting Rollins with the BFT. But his victory came after Rollins appeared to tweak his knee while performing a flip off the ropes. Immediately after suffering the injury, Knight moved in for the kill.

Although opinion was initially divided, it’s been reported that Rollins’ injury is legitimate.

Seth Rollins’ Result Changed

According to a report from PWInsider, Rollins had been set to beat Knight, but an audible was called, which saw the match end quickly in order to avoid making the injury worse.

While the severity of the issue remains unclear, it could have a huge impact on WWE’s wider creative plans given Rollins’ high-profile spot on the card, and the fact that he holds the Money In The Bank contract with SummerSlam just around the corner.

In the main event of the special, Gunther defeated Goldberg to retain the World Heavyweight Championship and send the WCW legend into retirement. However, the broadcast ended in somewhat awkward fashion as Goldberg was still mid-farewell speech when it went off the air.
