Seth Rollins Addresses Controversial WWE Steel Cage Match Victory
Seth Rollins is going to WWE SmackDown to confront two of his biggest rivals after picking up a controversial win on Raw.
The rivalry between CM Punk and Seth Rollins is 1-1 in 2025 after Rollins picked up a big win over Punk in a Steel Cage Match on Raw in New York City.
That win by Rollins over Punk was not a clean one. That’s because, after Rollins hit Punk with a Super Stomp, Roman Reigns showed up when Rollins had his back to the steel cage and Reigns pulled Rollins out of the ring. Those actions by Reigns gave Seth the win since the “escape the cage” rule exists in WWE Steel Cage Matches.
After pulling Rollins out of the ring, Reigns went on to beat up Rollins with a Superman Punch, Spear, and The Stomp on the floor. Officials stopped Reigns from doing more damage. That led to Reigns going into the ring to beat up Punk, which Reigns did by hitting Punk with a Spear.
At WWE Raw in Belgium, the fans loved seeing Rollins because they sang his song for six minutes in a row. When Rollins got a chance to speak, he made it clear that he wasn’t mad about Roman Reigns coming for revenge against him because Seth would have done the same thing.
Rollins said even after all these years and with a Wise Man in his ears, Reigns can’t figure out a plan because he needs his architect to do it for him. Rollins said that Reigns left a detail out referring to the guy that fans were chanting for and the fans chanted “CM Punk.” Rollins said that if he had a few more seconds with Punk, Rollins would have given him a Stomp through the mat, ended his WrestleMania dreams, and put his career on ice.
As he continued, Rollins said now it’s like the gold old days with Rollins left to clean up Roman Reigns’ mess. Rollins said that he’ll put the OTC Reigns in his place along the way.
Seth Rollins would go on to say that his “two favorite people” Roman Reigns and CM Punk are going to be in the same place at the same time this Friday at Smackdown in Bologna, Italy. Rollins suggested that maybe he should go to Italy to Smackdown to put himself between Reigns and Punk. That’s when Rollins confirmed that is happening on Friday.
That means WWE fans will have to tune into WWE SmackDown on Friday to find out what will happen when Rollins, Reigns and Punk are in the same building at the same time.
Seth Rollins Has Different Feelings On CM Punk & Roman Reigns
During a recent edition of the WWE Raw Recap podcast, Seth Rollins explained how his hatred for CM Punk and Roman Reigns is different because at least Reigns was once an ally as part of The Shield group.
There’s love for Roman Reigns. Do I agree with what he stands for? Absolutely not, absolutely not. But there’s a seed of love in there somewhere. And that makes it more painful when I get in there and do what I have to do to him.
With CM Punk, there is no seed of love. That is gone. He erased that a long time ago. So it’s pure unadulterated hatred. That’s all I have for him.
While not official by WWE yet, it does appear as though a Seth Rollins-CM Punk-Roman Reigns triple threat match is likely for WrestleMania 41.
