Seth Rollins Fires Shot At “Part-Time” Champion Roman Reigns
The new WWE World Champion Seth Rollins had some interesting comments about the “part-time” champion in WWE, Roman Reigns.
There was a new WWE World Champion crowned last Saturday at Night of Champions when Seth “Freakin” Rollins beat AJ Styles in the tournament to crown a new champion.
It was a champion that was introduced after WrestleMania due to Roman Reigns holding the WWE & Universal Title simultaneously as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Reigns has held the Universal Title for over 1,000 days and the WWE Title for over 400 days.
When Seth Rollins last faced Seth Rollins in a televised match, it was at Royal Rumble 2022 with Rollins winning by disqualification. Even though he won, Rollins was never given another title match against Reigns for some strange reason.
While Roman Reigns has 1,000+ days as the champion in WWE, he hasn’t defended his two titles in two months since WrestleMania 39, so there are a lot of people that complain about Roman’s lack of title defenses.
During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump, Seth Rollins spoke about winning the new WWE World Title while talking about how Roman Reigns is a part-time champion that doesn’t want to defend his title.
“It’s special. Any time you’re able to do something for the first time, it’s special, and it feels special. This one was the biggest of the three, and I’ll tell you why. It’s because this was a culmination. This title doesn’t exist if our industry and our company isn’t so healthy with incredible talent across the board.”
“There was a need for a title on Monday nights. There was a need for a new title because everybody is so good. You look across the board, myself, AJ Styles, all the SmackDown guys, really. Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Gunther. You look at RAW, you got Cody Rhodes, you got Kevin, you got Sami.”
“There’s just tons of guys, tons of competition at the top, and we needed a prize to fight for since our Universal Champion wants to keep his part-time schedule. So we gotta have a title. I was more than thrilled to have it. I’m more than thrilled to be the guy to usher in this new era, an era of change.”
This past Monday on Raw, Seth Rollins picked up a win in tag team action when he teamed up with AJ Styles to beat The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor & Damian Priest in the main event.
