Why Seth Rollins Cashing In On Goldberg Is Almost Impossible

Seth Rollins on RAW

Goldberg cannot leave Saturday Night’s Main Event with the World Heavyweight Championship, and either Seth Rollins or Gunther will have to make sure of that.

The WWE Hall of Famer wants to do the retirement match the right way, and not leave a bad taste. His last WWE match was against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022, which Da Man did not feel was impactful enough for a last match.

He returned to WWE RAW ahead of Night of Champions, and challenged The Ring General for SNME on July 12th, 2025.

Goldberg will not agree to Seth Rollins cashing-in at Saturday Night’s Main Event

It has previously been revealed that Da Man isn’t the easiest to work with. His ego often becomes a hindrance for the creative team when booking a match, especially if he is at the losing end.

On an episode of REBOOKED Wrestling podcast, Matthew Rehwoldt explained why Seth Rollins cashing-in on Goldberg is a near impossibility.

I think the cash-in is almost an impossibility. I think it’s a near-zero chance. If it’s Goldberg’s last, there’s no way Bill Goldberg is agreeing to go out on it. Cash-in, Stomp, get beat up, and then stand up and go, ‘thanks, everybody’. Like, no. It’s either going to be a clean loss and a take a bow and leave. It’s not going to be question mark, chaos.

However, both, Alex Mendez and Matthew Rehwoldt, agreed that if Gunther wins the match, WWE can book Seth Rollins to cash-in against The Ring General.
