Semi-Finals Complete For WWE Title Tournament
The semi-finals for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title tournament are now set as as four women remain in contention for the brand new championship.
Following the announcement on SmackDown that WWE was introducing a Women’s United States Championship, Raw was not to be left behind as a Women’s Intercontinental Title is also on the way.
A tournament was made with 12 of the red brand’s female stars getting their chance to write their name in the history books. Dakota Kai progressed from her triple threat match with Katana Chance and Shayna Baszler while Zoey Stark battled past Raquel Rodriguez and Kayden Carter to book her semi-final berth.
Lyra Valkyria defeated Zelina Vega and Ivy Nile leaving just one space left in the semi-final but that last place was decided on the 23rd of December edition of Raw.
IYO SKY One Step Closer To WWE Gold
Kairi Sane was pulled from the title tournament after a vicious backstage attack at the hands of the Pure Fusion Collective. Sane was replaced by her Damage CTRL partner IYO SKY who took on Alba Fyre and Natalya. SKY picked up the victory meaning she will now clash with Valkyria in the semi-final with Stark and Kai clashing in the other semi-final. Those matches are set to take place on the 30th of December edition of Raw which will be the last broadcast of the show on the USA Network.
The final of the tournament will take place when Raw makes its Netflix debut on January 6th.
