Scrapped WWE Plans For Brock Lesnar Revealed
Brock Lesnar was absent from the Royal Rumble and now it seems WWE has scrapped even more plans for the star.
Brock Lesnar was pulled by WWE from the Royal Rumble after the star was implicated in the horrifying lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon.
Lesnar is not named in the suit itself but has been by numerous news services including the Wall Street Journal and is alleged to have had contact with Janel Grant, who filed the suit, with Vince McMahon also alleged to have used Grant as a pawn in sordid contract negotiations with Lesnar.
WWE Halt Brock Lesnar Plans
Writing in his Daily Update, Dave Meltzer noted that plans for Brock Lesnar that have been scrapped included a big match at Elimination Chamber and an even bigger one at WrestleMania 40:
The way it was explained to me is that it involves the creative plans for Brock Lesnar and a domino effect when the decision was made at the last minute to not have Lesnar on the show due to the lawsuit. Lesnar’s planned creative last night was filled by Bron Breakker. Pretty much his point of entry, eliminations and how he was eliminated were all planned for Lesnar.
The Lesnar creative which at this point he’s not going to be involved with unless they decide they would bring him back, was Lesnar vs. Dominik Mysterio in Australia and Lesnar vs. Gunther (I don’t know factually an IC title match but one would expect) at WrestleMania. Whether Bron Breakker gets those matches is not clear yet.
Bron Breakker dominated the field when he made his entry to the Rumble match in the same way Lesnar has in the past. Breakker scored the eliminations of Jimmy Uso, Finn Balor, Ivar, and Omos before he was dumped out of the ring by Dominik Mysterio.
The elimination by Mysterio could then have theoretically led to the Chamber match if Lesnar had been in that role. How the company would have then got to the hugely anticipated bout between Gunther and Lesnar might now never be known.
