WWE heads to Saudi Arabia this week.

Scheduled first is the June 27 episode of SmackDown, followed by the Night of Champions PLE on Saturday.

Three major title matches were also announced for the blue brand, as women’s champion Tiffany Stratton will face Nia Jax in a Last Woman Standing match.

Zelina Vega will defend her Women’s United States Championship against Giulia.

The Street Profits will put their Tag Team Championship on the line against the Wyatt Sicks.

According to internal sources, WWE is also closely monitoring the tensions in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia Might Target The Acquisition Of WWE

The Stamford-based company struck a lucrative deal with Saudi Arabia to host events in the country as part of Saudi Vision 2030.

Over time, the number of PLEs over there has gradually increased. Not long ago, it was officially announced that the 2026 Royal Rumble will take place in Riyadh.

This will be the first time a Royal Rumble event is hosted outside North America.

Former employee Stevie Richards discussed Vince McMahon’s future involvement in WWE and how he successfully established a working relationship with Saudi Arabia.

While at it, he also mentioned the possibility of the Saudis acquiring the company as part of their Saudi Vision 2030 campaign.

This is what he said during his podcast on The Stevie Richards Show:

He (Vince McMahon) still has, I believe, a strong connection to the Saudis. But they may take over WWE or buy it, say in the next 30 years for the 2030 thing they’re trying to do. [56:01 onwards]

Crown Jewel, an event that Saudi Arabia has hosted since 2018, will move to Australia in 2025.
