Sasha Banks Won’t Join AEW Says Ric Flair
With seemingly unending speculation on Sasha Banks’ future continuing, Ric Flair says he thinks there’s no way she leaves WWE to join AEW.
Sasha Banks has not been seen on WWE television since she and Naomi walked out of an episode of Raw back in May. Reports at the time stated that Banks and Naomi had handed their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship belts to the then-Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis before leaving due to frustration with their creative direction in the company.
With a new regime in place at the top of WWE, led by Triple H, many have seen this as an opportunity for fences to be mended and both women to return. In the last few weeks, conflicting reports have surfaced regarding Sasha Banks’ and Naomi’s status in the company with fans remaining none the wiser about what the future holds.
Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair is adamant that in Sasha Banks’ case at least, the future does not include jumping ship to AEW:
“Absolutely [cannot imagine Sasha Banks not returning to WWE]. She wouldn’t go there [AEW]. She’s been in Mexico wrestling too. I talked to her. I’ve talked to her a couple of times. [Betting that she would wind up back in WWE?] Yeah, if she likes to do anything, she’s looking at outside options. (…) I hope that she gets back in the business.”
A former WWE Superstar has indicated that William Regal may have regretted his decision to join AEW “immediately” due to “maturity issues” with management.
