Saraya Walks Away From AEW
Saraya has put an end to speculation about her future as the former AEW Women’s Champion has quit Tony Khan’s company.
Saraya hasn’t been seen on AEW television since losing a four-way match on the October 8 2024 edition of Dynamite, and it seems that won’t be changing any time soon.
Saraya previously admitted that she didn’t feel there was a spot in AEW for her right now and she’s taken that as her cue to leave the company altogether.
Saraya Had A Magical Time In AEW
In her debut podcast episode ‘Rulebreakers with Saraya,’ the star announced that she was leaving AEW but said she loved her time in the company and only had good things to say about Tony Khan:
I’m here to tell you that me and AEW’s relationship has come to an end. I had an amazing time there. There’s no bad blood between us. I had such a magical time.
And then I got to thinking — what is there left for me to do in wrestling right now? Right now, there’s really no storylines where I would fit in. It’s just me thinking that I just don’t fit in right now. I feel like I might be taking someone else’s spot, someone who could be doing something really special.
That’s not to say I will never come back to AEW — I absolutely love it. But I’m taking a little step back and focusing on myself for a bit, and putting my energy into the podcast with all the crew here. What a wonderful crew I have here.
Thank you, AEW. Thank you to the AEW fans — I loved my f*cking time there. Tony’s f*cking awesome. And anyone that goes to work there will just enjoy their time. It’s just great. And I’ll miss the girls’ locker room. I’ll miss you, but don’t be a f*cking stranger! You know where I am. I see some of you outside the company anyway.
Taking to social media she confirmed that the decision was a mutual one with the company:
It’s mutual! But I loved my time at AEW and I had such a blast with the girls there. It’ll hold a special place in my heart. Tony was a great, AEW was great. I feel so lucky to be apart of this family for a couple years. Here’s to 2025! Wtf am I gonna get myself into now

Prior to joining AEW in 2022, Saraya had competed as Paige in WWE. She was forced to retire from the ring due to a neck injury suffered in a match at a WWE live event in December 2017.
