Saraya Recalls Neck Injury In WWE, Other Women Crying In The Ring
Known as Paige then, Saraya’s neck injury in WWE was devastating to many.
On December 27, 2017, a day that Saraya describes as “terrifying,” it was the beginning of a new era in her life. While partaking in a bout at a live event during the Live Holiday Tour of WWE, then-Paige had a stiff kick placed to her back, the exact same kick that was done to her just a night before from WWE Superstar Bayley at another house show.
However, as Saraya revealed recently in an interview with Chris Jericho on his “Talk Is Jericho” podcast, “something was just a little bit [off]” during that evening at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
“My neck just friggin snapped back like I was in a car crash. And then I was like paralyzed for like a couple of minutes, which is the most terrifying thing … I just remember laying there, and then I didn’t cry, but I knew instantly I was just like, ‘This is it like I’m done? Like, I’m toast, right?’
I look over and I see Sasha [Banks], Bayley and there’s Mickie James and everyone. They were just crying. I look at Mandy and Sonya, and they were crying.”
