Saraya Sends Message To Fans Who Didn’t Like AEW Run
Saraya has reflected fondly on her time in AEW.
On March 26, Saraya announced her departure from AEW, six months before her contract officially expired in September.
The announcement came after months of speculation about her future and hints that she could return to WWE. The star left her former employer in 2022 and quickly jumped to AEW where she became Women’s Champion at All In at a packed Wembley Stadium.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, the star acknowledged that while some fans might have enjoyed her time with the company, she had a great time. Crucially, she also promised that this isn’t the end of her wrestling career.
“I’m really happy I got the stories that I got because I got to hang with wonderful women and I got to help Toni (Storm) in a way at the beginning, I got hang with Ruby (Soho). I got to be with Harley (Cameron). She’s such a big superstar.
Even if not everyone was happy with the way storylines were or how I was portrayed, I had a great time. I had a great time behind the scenes. I was having fun. This isn’t the end of my wrestling career. Maybe I’ll do something down the line that everyone will be proud of love.
I want everyone to know I had a good time. If you didn’t like what I was doing, that’s perfectly fine. Everyone is allowed to have their opinion. Even I, sometimes, was like, ‘I wish we could be doing XYZ,’ but I was having a great time behind the scenes.”
Saraya Has One AEW Regret
Although she had fun, that doesn’t mean the British star doesn’t wish could have made one big change to her time with the company.
While looking back at her time as All Elite, Saraya admitted she had a different plan for how she wanted to lose the AEW Women’s Title. The star explained that she originally wanted to hold the gold until Full Gear before losing to Toni Storm.
However, Saraya lost the title to Hikaru Shida in October, and she subsequently lost it to Storm a month later.
