Samoa Joe Says Legendary TNA Promo Took More Than One Take
It’s no surprise that sometimes promos can take more than one attempt to complete, and Samoa Joe has recalled being the other side of the camera for one of them.
One of the most talked about promos in the history of wrestling is Scott Steiner using maths to explain the chances he and his opponents had in a match. With Petey Williams by his side, Steiner explained that the percentage changed when you were up against a ‘genetic freak’ like him.
In a discussion with Phil Strum from Under The Ring, Samoa Joe has commented that a second take was required to film the promo. According to the former TNA World Champion, he was watching as the promo was filmed and someone laughing caused it to be shot again.
I was there for it live and it was hilarious. I was standing on the other side of the camera guy, laughing. To Scott’s credit, I think it was only a two-take go and I think the first take was just because maybe Petey (Williams) broke because nobody was really expecting it. It was hilarious. Still is.
Samoa Joe is currently under contract to AEW and holds the Ring Of Honor World Television Champion. An NJPW legend recently revealed that facing Joe would be a dream fight for him.
