Samoa Joe Breaks Silence After Shock AEW Title Win

Samoa Joe has had plenty to say for himself after he shocked the world at AEW Full Gear.

When Samoa Joe lost in his quest to become AEW World Champion at WrestleDream, he looked to be magnanimous in defeat for about ten seconds before he viciously turned on Adam Page. Joe and The Opps led an assault on Page and made clear he would not rest until he was AEW World Champion once again. And as it turned out, Joe had a secret weapon up his sleeve.

Samoa Joe won a four-way match featuring Bobby Lashley, Ricochet, and HOOK to become the number one contender again to Page’s title. With The Opps never too far away, however, Page challenged Joe for their Full Gear title match to be contested inside a solid, steel cage.

While the cage was designed to keep trouble away from Page, it ended up finding him anyway. Eddie Kingston helped the champion by trying to take out Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs when HOOK sneaked in the ring, first looking like he was trying to rouse the fallen referee, instead, he smashed Page in the head with his title belt and then revealed his Opps t-shirt, revealing himself to be part of the group once again.

Samoa Joe Doesn’t Care If Fans Aren’t Happy

Samoa Joe took full advantage to win the AEW World Championship, but the night was not done. Swerve Strickland made his shock return, and Joe misread the room when he cleared a path to let Strickland pick the bones of his perennial rival. However, Strickland turned his attention to Joe, clearing the ring of The Opps and the Opps Dojo to stand tall with Page at the end of the show.

Now, taking to social media, Samoa Joe couldn’t resist a little gloat as he shared the famous Henry Hill laughing GIF from Goodfellas and wrote:
