Sammy Guevara Addresses AEW & WWE Possibly Working Together
Sammy Guevara has discussed the biggest Forbidden Door in professional wrestling.
Now in its fourth year of existence, All Elite Wrestling has collaborated with multiple big wrestling promotions around the world. Talent have appeared and competed in promotions such as IMPACT Wrestling and GCW, with the most famous partnership being with New Japan Pro Wrestling, forming the now annual Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
Guevara has wrestled matches in Triple A while under contract with Tony Khan’s promotion alongside wife Tay Melo, who is currently expecting her first child with the former TNT Champion.
While interviewed on the Rocker Morning Show, Guevara was asked about the biggest talent exchange that could be possible today, a working relationship between rival promotions AEW and WWE. The Spanish God agreed that a collaboration between the two biggest wrestling promotions in the United States would be great for fans, but doesn’t see it taking place in the near future:
“Competition makes the best kind of shows. In the world of wrestling, never say never, but I don’t see that happening. If it ever happened, I’m all for it. That would be a very exciting show that would break numbers and be very exciting for fans. Will it ever happen? I have no idea,”
AEW’s Sammy Guevara Would Like To Collaborate With WWE Talent
Despite contracted AEW talent yet to appear in the rival promotion, WWE has welcomed stars from All Elite Wrestling to guest star on original network programming. In April 2021, Chris Jericho was a guest on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, with AEW mentioned in the conversation between the former World Champions.
Recently, footage from YouTube series Being The Elite was used in the WWE produced documentary American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes, which detailed Rhodes journey from AEW to the WWE return.
