Sami Zayn Match, Tiffany Stratton And More Added To WWE SmackDown
Tiffany Stratton will be on SmackDown.
On the September 26 edition of SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her Women’s Championship against Nia Jax and Jade Cargill, but that was only part of the story.
Cargill suffered a nasty cut on her head after being launched into the steel steps by Jax, while Stratton was late to break up a pin attempt by the former. This was quickly followed by a “phantom kick out” as Stratton pinned Jax, but the referee stopped counting at two, despite Jax not moving.
The bout was later described as WWE’s worst match of the year by Dave Meltzer, who highlighted the several botches that took away from the action.
It’s since been reported that despite needing several stitches, Jade Cargill didn’t need plastic surgery for the cut on her head. The belief within WWE is that Cargill will be cleared to get back in the ring in a few weeks, and there’s no indication she’s been taken off the road.
Tiffany Stratton Shifts Attention To Crown Jewel
Off the back of that match, Tiffany Stratton is now preparing to face the Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer at Crown Jewel.
In a series of new announcements for the October 3 edition of SmackDown, it’s been confirmed that Stratton will address her upcoming match, while Sami Zayn will host another United States Open Challenge. Damian Priest will also be in action.
It had already been announced that Cody Rhodes will team with Randy Orton to face Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker on the show. Rhodes is scheduled to face World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel.
