Sami Zayn’s headline-grabbing 2023 continues.

After losing out to Jackass star Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania 38, Zayn embarked on a mission to try and restore credibility within the locker room. This quest saw him fight to become part of The Bloodline. The star eventually succeeded before reuniting with best friend Kevin Owens and winning the Undisputed Tag Team Titles.

Although the pair have since lost the gold, the storyline was hailed by many as the best run of Zayn’s WWE career.

In more recent months, Zayn has been at war with Judgment Day, with Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes also fighting the good fight.

This led to a match between Zayn and Judgment Day wannabe JD McDonagh on the Crown Jewel pre-show. In Saudi Arabia, it was Zayn who picked up the win, with eagle-eyed fans noticing that this was Zayn’s 900th match since joining WWE.

When Did Sami Zayn Join WWE?

Speaking back in May, Sami Zayn revealed he actually took a pay cut to sign with WWE in 2013. Prior to joining the company Zayn had established himself as one of the biggest names on the independent scene and was earning around $100,000.

However, Zayn’s first deal with WWE was worth just $39,000, although he knew if he was successful, there were much bigger paydays to come.
