Sami Zayn Names Non-WWE Tag Team As Greatest Of All Time

Sami Zayn WWE

Sami Zayn hasn’t forgotten how instrumental Mark and Jay Briscoe were in his push alongside Kevin Steen (Owens) during their early wrestling days.

Zayn, wrestling as El Generico in Ring of Honor in 2007, crossed paths with the Briscoe Brothers on more than one occasion. He formed an alliance with Steen, which the fans admirably referred to as “Steenrico”.

Mark Briscoe recently took to X to commemorate 25 years of his wrestling debut with his late brother Jay.

The post caught Zayn’s attention, and he shared it on his account, calling them the “best tag team of all time.”

This wasn’t the first time Zayn went out of his way to praise his former rivals. Sharing another post on X in September 2024, the former NXT Champion wrote:

The Briscoes are the best tag team of the past 25 years, and on a short list for best of all time. At least a dozen top wrestlers today will tell you the best/toughest tag matches of their careers were with Dem Boys. I wouldn’t be here without them. I miss you Jay. Love you Mark.

The Canadian quit ROH in 2012 and joined WWE the following year as a member of the then black and gold brand.

Sami Zayn Forms New Alliance For Saturday Night’s Main Event

On the May 12 episode of Monday Night Raw, Sami Zayn officially aligned with CM Punk to face the pair of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker at SNME.

Speculations are in the air about how this highly anticipated match could conclude, with some even bringing in the Head of the Table, Roman Reigns, into the mix.
