Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens may be destined to cross paths forever more, but Zayn is conscious of how fans may react to it.

After months of ‘is he, isn’t he’ storylines with The Bloodline, Sami Zayn finally stood up against the actions of Roman Reigns after his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match at the 2023 Royal Rumble to protect Kevin Owens. This has led to Zayn challenging ‘The Head Of The Table’ for his titles at Elimination Chamber.

However, given how early in their careers the paths of both Zayn and Owens crossed, and then how frequently it has been during their time in WWE, it’s no surprise that there is an awareness that fans may get tired of them either being with or facing each other.

In a discussion with Sportsnet Canada, Sami Zayn admitted that he’s aware they have to be careful how often the two are paired together, and there has been a conscious effort made with it in his current storyline.

Kevin’s involvement was a point of contention, as far as how much and when. Especially with me and Kevin, because we’re hypersensitive to the fact that we’ve done so much together. We’re delicate about how we’re used together, because we don’t want fans to ever get sick of this. And it’s challenging to constantly keep something you’ve been doing for 20 years, for fans to not only not be to the point where they’re saying ‘this again,’ but to actually be okay with it, and never mind being okay with it, but excited to see it.

Even though these are two guys I’ve seen together across the room from each other, literally thousands of times, and you still get them excited, that’s very, very, very hard to do.

Sami Zayn is also extremely positive about the storyline he is currently involved in, as he feels that it’s one which fans will will remember for a long time.
