Sami Zayn says there is a dangerous move from the past that Kevin Owens doesn’t plan on using ever again.

For the past decade, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have cemented themselves as top stars in WWE. It’s an incredible accomplishment for the two best friends who will likely be WWE Hall of Famers in the future.

At WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens not only took part in the first Tag Team Title match to main event WrestleMania, but they also ended The Usos record-long reign as champions.

Kevin Owens is now a Smackdown guy who is feuding with the new version of The Bloodline while Zayn is the popular Intercontinental Champion on the Raw brand. They likely reunite and/or start a rivalry again in the future, but for now, they are doing their own thing.

In an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Zayn spoke about how his buddy Owens has retired a dangerous move that was called the Steenalizer. It’s a move where Owens (who used to wrestle as Kevin Steen, which is his real name) would pick up his opponent like he was about to do a Powerbomb, but instead of a slam into the mat, Owens would toss them so their face would go crashing into the turnbuckle or into the ring mat.

“I don’t see that one coming to WWE. That one has to go. You need a certain type of opponent and we don’t have a lot of those types of opponents in WWE.”

“There is a lot of stuff you have to let go of at a certain point. Sometimes, I’ll see footage of old stuff we used to do and there is a reason that stuff stops. You have to enjoy it while it’s there. We had the Steenilizer. May it rest in peace.”

Sami Zayn May Have To Face Bron Breakker

After defeating Chad Gable perhaps for the final time at WWE Clash at the Castle, Zayn did a promo on the June 17th episode of Raw where he spoke about taking on all comers. That led to an interruption from Bron Breakker and Sheamus, both of whom have never won the Intercontinental Title before.

During the Breakker/Sheamus match later in the show, Ludwig Kaiser interfered to cost Sheamus the match and it led to a disqualification. There was a post match attack that ended when Breakker had a staredown with Zayn, which was a tease of a future match between them.
