Sami Zayn Attacked By Some Of The Bloodline At WWE’s Royal Rumble

Sami Zayn made his choice at the Royal Rumble leading to Roman Reigns and The Bloodline delivering a violent message.

The main event of the 2023 Royal Rumble event saw Roman Reigns defeat Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. It was not without controversy because Owens had Reigns beat when the referee was bumped. However, Reigns managed to come back to win with a Spear.

Following the match, the story continued with Reigns ordering the rest of the Bloodline to continue the attack on Owens. That led to The Usos hitting their 1D finisher on Owens while Reigns ordered them to do more.

Paul Heyman had some handcuffs, so The Usos handcuffed Owens to the ropes. That led to The Usos delivering about a dozen superkicks to Owens, who couldn’t protect himself during the beating.

During that post match beating, there was a key moment where Reigns wanted Sami Zayn to continue the assault on Owens with a steel chair. It was Roman’s way of trying to prove Sami’s loyalty to the group. Instead, Zayn told Reigns that they had done enough to Owens, but Reigns kept pushing and when Reigns turned his back, Zayn hit him in the back with a chair! The fans cheered for that moment while The Usos yelled at Zayn for it.

At that point, it was all downhill for Zayn because it was his turn to take a beating from The Bloodline. Jimmy Uso hit him with a superkick. However, Jey Uso refused to take part in it because as we saw on last week’s Raw, Jey likes and respects Sami Zayn now.

After Jey left, the trio of Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Sikoa beat up Zayn with Reigns using the steel chair as well as numerous punches. Zayn was left in the ring barely able to move while his best friend Owens was handcuffed to the ropes. The Bloodline walked way at that point and that was the end of the Royal Rumble.

The next WWE Premium Live Event is Elimination Chamber on February 18th in Montreal, which is the hometown of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens (from nearby Marieville). While it’s not known exactly what is planned for that event, it’s clear the fans will be strongly behind the Canadian Duo as they likely fight together against The Bloodline in the weeks and months ahead.

Roman Reigns: “You’re either Bloodline…or you’re not.”
