Sami Zayn Begs For WWE Unsanctioned Match
Sami Zayn suffered serious injuries at the hands of Kevin Owens but that’s not stopping him from getting his hands on his old friend at a major WWE show.
On the February 3 edition of Raw, Sami Zayn had the chance to qualify for the Elimination Chamber when he faced CM Punk. Punk picked up the win but worse was to come for Zayn. Kevin Owens viciously assaulted Zayn from behind before dropping him with a sickening package piledriver. The same move that recently put Randy Orton on the shelf.
Sami Zayn had been ruled out of WWE indefinitely and on the February 10 edition of Raw, Michael Cole detailed Zayn’s apparent injuries. Cole noted Zayn had suffered “spinal contusion” and “extreme nerve damage” as a result of Kevin Owen’s assault.
However, one week later Zayn was back and looking for retribution.
Sami Zayn Gets WWE Match Under One Condition
Kevin Owens had laid down a challenge to Zayn for Elimination Chamber and on the February 17 edition of Raw, Zayn tried to accept. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce had other ideas, however, as he noted Zayn had not been cleared to compete by WWE’s medical team.
But Zayn was unrelenting and eventually a match was made under one condition, it would be an unsanctioned match. That means WWE won’t be responsible for any injuries suffered by either Sami Zayn or Kevin Owens during the bout.
The confirmed card for Elimination Chamber: Toronto is:
- Men’s Elimination Chamber – Logan Paul vs. John Cena vs. CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins
