Former WWE and ECW wrestling legend Sabu says he is doing better after suffering a serious medical emergency.

During his professional wrestling career that started in the mid-1980s, Sabu was known for being the biggest risk takers in the wrestling business.

By the time ECW surged in popularity in the mid-1990s, he was often referred to as a “homicidal, suicidal, genocidal, death-defying maniac” that oftentimes would use a steel chair as a weapon, he’d jump off the chair and use other weapons around too.

After ECW died, Sabu worked for TNA Wrestling in the early 2000s before joining WWE in 2006 on a one-year deal when they launched the ECW brand. it wasn’t a memorable WWE run for him, but at least he got to spend a year there.

While the man whose real name is Terry Brunk wrestled for other promotions including a lot of independent wrestling show, it’s ECW where he’ll be most remembered. That’s where he is a former two-time ECW World Champion, an ECW TV Champion and a three-time ECW Tag Team Champion as well.

This past Saturday, the organizers of the Squared Circle Expo convention in Indianapolis took to Twitter and Facebook to let us know that something happened, which led to Sabu being taken to the hospital.

“ATTN: Due to having a serious medical emergency while on the show floor, Sabu will not be appearing for the remainder of the Expo. He is currently in route to a local medical facility.

All pro photo op for the ECW pillars pro op and Sabu/RVD pro op will be refunded CASH IN HAND at the pro photo op at their scheduled times.

Our thoughts are with Sabu and all of his ECW colleagues at this time as we await for some hopefully positive news on his status.

Thank you for understanding.”

On Twitter, Sabu gave an update to let everybody know he was doing better.

“Hello everyone I am doing better and thank you for your well wishes ☝️”

Everybody here at TJRWrestling wishes Sabu all the best in his recovery from the medical emergency that he is dealing with.
