Russell Crowe Gives Surprising Reaction To WrestleMania 39 Match

Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe has given his praise to one WrestleMania match for its heart and drama as he shared kind words about Edge and Finn Balor going to war in Hell In A Cell.

The issues between Edge and The Judgment Day stretch back to WrestleMania 38 when the WWE Hall of Famer began putting together the group with Damian Priest. Rhea Ripley soon joined the group and following the Hell In A Cell event in 2022, the group added Finn Balor to its ranks before unceremoniously kicking out Edge.

Things grew increasingly personal between Edge and the group with them even taking aim at Edge’s WWE Hall of Fame wife Beth Phoenix. At Elimination Chamber in February Edge and Beth Phoenix defeated Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley but at WrestleMania 39, a whole new challenge was issued.

Edge and Finn Balor were set to meet inside Hell In A Cell but The Rated-R Superstar told Balor that he wanted to face The Demon in Los Angeles, a request that Balor granted. A brutal match ensued with Edge managing to emerge victorious, ending his ordeal with The Judgment Day.

Finn Balor has since taken to social media to show the injuries he suffered as a result of the brutal bout.

Hollywood icon Russell Crowe provided narration for the video package shown before the match and it featured snippets of Crowe’s latest movie, The Pope’s Exorcist.

Taking to social media Crowe gave his take on the bout and praised both Edge and Balor for the heart and drama they put into it:

Shout out for the efforts of @EdgeRatedRand@FinnBalorinside the Hell in a Cell at #Wrestlemania. All the heart and drama of great pro wrestling. Well done to both and to @WWE. @popes_exorcist”

Edge, once a husband to a con-chair-toed wife responded by thanking Crowe for the incentive for the match and says his narration set the tone for it:

“Your narration set the tone of the story. Then we had to try and live up to it. So thank you for the incentive too @russellcrowe@popes_exorcist#HIAC”
