Rusev Returns To WWE With Vicious Raw Attack
Another ex-AEW star has made the leap to WWE as Rusev has returned with a frightening attack on the Raw after WrestleMania 41.
Rusev was released by AEW after over a year of inactivity along with several other wantaway stars as Tony Khan cleared the deadwood out of his company.
Rey Fenix has joined his brother Penta in WWE, while Ricky Saints has captured the NXT North American Championship on WWE’s third brand. SmackDown has been airing teases for Aleister Black’s return and now Rusev has returned to the company on Raw.
The Bulgarian Brute had been expected by many to be Randy Orton’s surprise opponent at WrestleMania 41, but that slot ended up going to TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, who lost in short order to Orton.
Rusev Wipes Out WWE Tag Team
On Raw in Las Vegas, the new World Tag Team Champions, The New Day, were getting ready for an impromptu match against Alpha Academy after a fair bit of goading from Maxxine Dupri. However, that match never got started as the lights went out.
When they came back on, Rusev appeared with new music and as The New Day bailed from the ring, the former WWE US Champion viciously assaulted Otis and Akira Tozawa.
