Rumor Killer Regarding The Miz’s WWE Future
Wrestling fans are wondering about The Miz’s social media actions and what it could mean about his WWE future.
The month of June began with some shocking WWE departures when R-Truth announced that his WWE contract was set to expire without a new deal. At 53 years old, Truth is one of the oldest wrestlers in WWE, who has also not won a televised match on Raw or SmackDown this year. It’s easy to see why WWE felt it was time to let him go.
However, Truth’s departure from WWE has also upset a lot of fans, as well as people within the company, who loved Truth and considered him a locker room leader.
Carlito is also leaving WWE in a few weeks when his contract expires in mid-June. After leaving WWE in 2010, Carlito was brought back 13 years later for a two-year run, during which he was part of The Judgment Day. Like Truth, the veteran Carlito didn’t win much on television and was used more in a complimentary role.
Due to those departures, fans have wondered who might be next, and some recent actions on social media have put former two-time WWE Champion The Miz in the spotlight.
Could The Miz Be Leaving WWE Too?
The reason fans are speculating about The Miz’s WWE future is that, on Twitter, he unfollowed WWE and removed mentions of WWE from his bio.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful commented on the story on X by writing: “A nothing story.”
That likely won’t deter the social media sleuths who will speculate that there could be more to the story.
It was reported in 2019 that The Miz signed a contract extension with WWE that will keep him with the company until at least 2025, but there’s no official word on when that deal will expire or if Miz signed an extension.
Like many wrestlers, The Miz also paid tribute to R-Truth, who was a World Tag Team Champion with Miz for most of 2024.
Forming Awesome Truth with you was one of the best runs of my career. No one made me laugh harder. Your energy, heart, and smile lit up every room…and every arena. You’re not one of a kind, you’re one in a lifetime. Love you, Truth. Keep shining. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/RU6UaDXGSx
