While the Royal Rumble was a good night for Ronda Rousey and Bobby Lashley, reports have emerged suggesting there backstage frustration about the event.

The 2022 Royal Rumble was full of twists and turns that kept the fans in St. Louis on the edge of their seats all night. One shock was Ronda Rousey making her return to WWE after almost three years away and winning the women’s Royal Rumble match, stamping her ticket to another WrestleMania main event.

Meanwhile, in the WWE Championship match, Brock Lesnar was on the verge of retaining the WWE Championship when Paul Heyman revealed his loyalty still lies with ‘The Tribal Chief’ as Roman Reigns and Heyman interfered to hand the victory and the gold to Bobby Lashley.

However, Lesnar had the last laugh on the night when he delivered the biggest surprise of the night, entering the men’s Rumble match at number 30 and making short work of the remaining competitors to win the match for the second time in his career.

Now a new report from PWInsider indicates that Brock Lesnar might have been one of the few to leave the Royal Rumble with a smile on his face, as frustration and low morale is claimed to have been in abundance backstage.

One source in the report is quoted as saying plans for the men’s Rumble match changed “20 times” while the production for the women’s match was also plagued with changes throughout the day leading to a lot of frustration. Many of the changes are said to have come from Vince McMahon who had his “fingers deep” in all areas of the event.

One backstage source is quoted as saying:

“We were all in a whirlwind. Just as you had your role and spots down, everything started over and over and now most of us were back to square one. It changed again and again and again. It wasn’t an easy night even before we hit the ring.”
