Roxanne Perez Drops Big Hint On NXT Future
Roxanne Perez is opening up about her WWE future and how it may not include NXT for much longer.
Over the past three years, Roxanne Perez has solidified herself as one of the biggest stars of the WWE NXT brand. Her WWE career started with Perez as a typical babyface wrestler saying that she was living her dream. After a couple of years of that, Perez turned heel and went on to have a memorable 276-day reign as NXT Women’s Champion.
During the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble match, Roxanne Perez set a record by being in the Rumble for 1:07:47, which broke a record held by Bayley. Perez was the runner-up in the Women’s Rumble, losing to Charlotte Flair.
In the main event of NXT Vengeance Day, Perez failed to regain the NXT Title in a match with champion Giulia, Bayley, and Cora Jade. Giulia won by beating Perez.
Perez spoke to Sports Illustrated about her WWE future and sounded like somebody ready to be on the main roster.
“Being the last two with Charlotte Flair, I think it really solidified The Prodigy on the main roster. And I have more motivation than ever. I am so excited to make my mark up there, and I can’t wait to see what happens.”
The interview was conducted before Vengeance Day and when it was mentioned to Perez that this could be the end of her NXT run, she talked about how emotional it would be.
“It’s definitely a mix of emotions. It’s really cool to just be able to look at all these moments [I’ve had] and for Shawn Michaels to have had so much trust in me and belief in me, and root for me the whole way. It makes me a little sad that it maybe could be over, but of course I’ll be back.”
Roxanne Perez In Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match On Raw
The 23-year-old Perez was so impressive in the Women’s Royal Rumble match that she is also going to have a Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match on the February 17th Raw against Raquel Rodriguez. It’s an interesting matchup between two heel characters, which could lead to some interesting crowd reactions.
Whoever wins the Perez/Rodriguez match will join five former Women’s Champions in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match: Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Bayley and Naomi.
The winner of the Women’s Elimination Chamber match will go on to WrestleMania 41 to challenge the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley at the biggest show of the year.
In addition to the Perez/Rodriguez match, here is what WWE is advertising for Raw.
- Seth “Freakin” Rollins dukes it out with Finn Bálor for Elimination Chamber berth
