Ronda Rousey Reportedly Spoken To About Her Attitude Following Raw Promo
Ronda Rousey was reportedly spoken to for coming across as “bitter” during her recent WWE Raw promo.
Ronda Rousey returned to Raw on January 31st following her shock Royal Rumble win. During the show, the former WWE Raw Women’s Champion came out on top after a clash with Becky Lynch.
The former UFC star also cut a promo on the show that seemed to fall flat with the audience and was later criticised online. It has now come to light that backstage figures weren’t best pleased with it either.
During the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Rousey was spoken to about the promo, with people in WWE thinking she came across as “bitter” and seemed to be playing the heel.
“I believe that people were talking to her about Monday. She acknowledged the fans. She was very very bitter coming back, and I think that that was not a good attitude to have, especially since she’s being portrayed as a babyface.
“People, when they saw her, go, ‘Oh my God, she’s being a heel’, and it’s like, ‘No, that’s just Ronda’, and then they had to talk her out of… basically going, ‘These people are cheering you, you have to acknowledge them, you don’t mean-mug them’.
“I know people who talked to her about certain things. It was explained that you have to let that go (the fans turning on her), because if you’re gonna be bitter about that, you’re not gonna be a very good babyface.”
After her appearance on Raw, Ronda Rousey went to SmackDown where she announced that WrestleMania 38 would see her challenge Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, saying that she owed ‘The Queen’ an “ass-kicking”.
