Ronda Rousey On If She Wants Tag Team Title Run

Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey spoke about whether or not she wants to have a run as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Since making her professional wrestling debut in 2018, Ronda Rousey has proven herself dominant in WWE, winning the Raw Women’s Championship from Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam later that year. She left WWE television after losing the title to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35, and after having a child, she returned to WWE in January of 2022. She won the 2022 Royal Rumble and went on to be a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, a title she currently holds.

While Rousey has a great number of accomplishments to her name, all of her success has been as a singles star. She currently finds herself in an alliance with Shayna Baszler on SmackDown, leading some fans to wonder if she’d ever pursue a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title run in the future.

Speaking on a livestream on her YouTube channel, Ronda Rousey answered the question, saying that she’d love to change up her career and go after a tag team title. She also noted that she’s still fairly new to the professional wrestling game, having only competed for about a year and a half total.

“Yes. I’m happy just to have a tag title. I don’t need a singles title. A tag run would be fun. I mean, both is cool. I’ve been doing singles for so long, I’m ready to change it up. That’s another thing, too, people forget I only have a year-and-a-half of in-ring experience.”

Ronda Rousey received heavy criticism for a botched DDT spot in her SmackDown Women’s Championship match with Shotzi at WWE Survivor Series. When speaking about the incident, Ronda explained that she was overly concerned with keeping her opponent safe.
